Re: Noob SLI Q's
Did you already buy the other 8800GTS? Here is my suggestion. A few people on the forums are looking for older nvidia cards (including myself) to run with their ATI or NVIDIA cards for dedicated PHYSX. Sell the card, as you should be able to do it quickly. And buy a new card. If you are looking @ bu...

Re: Club3D HD 5850 overclocking
Depending on which card you have, you will be able to overvolt or not, this will make a big difference on how much you will be able to overclock. All reference design cards, you are able to overvolt, the rest you can't. Best way is to use a combination of AMD GPU tool and MSI after burner. Use Furma...

You only need an optical cable, which does not cost a lot. Just plug directly into the Z5500 control panel

Re: PC won't boot!
Try looking in the bios for any floppy devices, and disable it, usually on the same page where you will configure your other dirves.
I had this problem a while back with an older mobo.
The mobo shouldn't be faulty.

Re: crossfire crossroad
Update So over the weekend I crossfired my 1GB 4850 (Asus) with my bro's 512MB 4830 (Sapphire). And yes, it works... So that answers a lot of questions about mixing cards.CCC only gives you a warning about the cards not matching. One thing I had to do was swap the 4830 to my first slot, I guess this...

True... I just think if you play on a 22" or smaller, then Multi GPU is a waste. They are assuming that consumers with a multi GPU setup will play at higher res. True, though in a year, a second card could hold a good framerate boost? Oh yeah, forgot to ask earlier. Power supply wise, is the A...

You can't go wrong with the 4890 or the GTX 275 You may find this article interesting... http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3575&p=1 Crossfire/SLI is good, but IMO, I would rather go for a stronger single solution. If you can save money by buying 2 less expensive cards, then that migh...

Re: Rig advice
If you wait for new tech to arrive, you will never end up upgrading. The point is that twin 4770s are better then most single big cards. Certainly more of a performance jump then the R300 price jump. I agree with what you are saying. For me there is just a difference in waiting for a revision/upgra...

Thanx, I see they have a calculator.
The reason I want to import is not to save, but rather get stuff we don't import for some reason.

Re: Performance-pcs.com Question
I guess that could work as well.
Think the import cost for a few fans etc will probably more than the stuff I'm buying. I've never ordered anything form overseas, so not sure about the process etc. Will mail them, maybe they can help me.
Thanks anyhow.

Performance-pcs.com Question
Hi Guys
I wasn't sure where to post this. I know a while back a few guys ordered stuff from performance-pcs.com. I want to order a few fans, heatsinks etc, was just wondering if someone here still orders from them?
Please move this to the correct Category if necessary.
Regards

Re: AGP GFX cards
Check on local bidding sites or classifieds (not sure if I'm allowed to mention names), its not worth buying a new AGP card.
The best you can do is either a ATI 3650/3850.
Good luck

Re: Rig advice
The P45 chipset has really matured, so the brand does not really matter, give or take a few benchmarks. Look at the layout, and the back panel to suit your needs. Personally, i would rather spend less on the GFX and wait for the DX11 cards that are just around the corner. (GTS 250/4770/4730/4830 are...

Re: CrossFire Questions ..
It should work. The slower card will just bring the 4850 down to its speed. Seeing that the prices are going to drop (all the 48xx cards) in the coming weeks, I would rather wait. You should be able to get the 4850 for the same price. I want to test this over the weekend though, my bro is running a ...
