Database Design Q
Hi I've never used relationships at database level (FK's). Most of the time I've handled all relationships in the application logic level of my apps. We started using a new ORM tool, which requires relationships to be declared in the db. Which should have been a simple thing is now a headache... In ...

Re: SQL Query v5
The DB structure was developed by a moron; I can't change it without making too many UI changes as well. I'll try both approaches, thanks.

SQL Query v5
Hi... I have three (well, potentially infinite tables (10 more likely)) tables that stores data captured by a user for different test result sets. Each table contains a TestAddedByUser column. I also have a table containing the users, with the users login id stored in UserName . I need a query that ...

(excuse the ascii) Table1 Table2 Table3 -------- -------- -------- ID ID2 ID3 SomeField FKID FKID2 otherstuff SomeField2 Table3 is in a one-to-many relationship with Table2, and Table2 with Table1. How can I set the value of SomeField...

I liked the diesel due to the claimed fuel consumption (about 7.5l/100km). Apparantly the turbos suck.

Re: SQL Query v3
1. SQL Server 2005.
2. True.
3. Don't think the date/time format would change.
4. I insert the data into the DB with an app I wrote. No 3rd party.

Re: SQL Query v3
That's the way it is given to us by our supplier. Btw... what I did was : UPDATE Transactions SET DateField = DateField + convert(char(8), TimeField, 108) There are still two columns, but we'll just do reports on the DateField column. Need to keep the TimeField there, so future imports still work. I...

SQL Query v3
Hi I have a table with about 3.5mil rows. 2 of the columns contain the date and time respectively. Because SQL combines time and dates in datetime, the dates are represented as 5/6/2007 00:00:00 and the times as 1899/01/01 15:16:17. Is there a query that I can run to combine the date and time column...

320d vs S40T5 vs V50T5
So I gotta decide between a E90 (or E46) 320d, a S40 T5 or a V50 T5. All are pretty much in the same price range (R140k - R190k), and the same year (around 2004-2007). The Beemer gets awesome mileage to the gallon, but I don't think it'll match up to the (230 odd hp?) of the Volvo T5's. And I've alw...
