Not surprised to hear of a dual steup in the future, slick. Considering 97% of people use PCs', there are many more compatibility and unity related issues to consider and work with in PC hardware tech development, so it's not really fair to say the PC world is slow and behind the game. Course I'd st...

Do people actually BUY NEW ddr266? Why is it still produced anyway? If it were considerably cheaper( far from it) then maybe it might be worth buying. Not the case- everyone should always buy ddr400 or whatever the latest is, minimal price variations into account. Jeez. Also, Athlon 64 chips will re...

Yo Azgard, Even Java Cafe sold them for R1600 a couple months back I remember. Buying direct from a supplier would cut that cost down to around R1500 (R1360 ex. vat in February)or so. Rectron? Sahara? Sonic? There are many peeps on the forum in whatever area you live with possible help... If you in ...

Viva XGI! Or not? Ok... People learn new things from varying sources, not least graphics card comparitive reviews. It's all more fun than anything else, sticking up for your chosen brand. Everyone likes to think they're deadly serious but reality is otherwise. Starting an AMD/Intel or Nvidea/Ati arg...

Haha, Porsche and Subaru. I use my pc for design based work, gaming, multimedia. Use it all the time. So I cane my subaru throughout the week, doesn't mean I don't want that Porsche for the week-ends. In other words, we all need a powerful PC AND a G5 Powerbook( translates to a new GT3 in Porsche te...

Thats true soap, but a modestly overclocked 3400 will put away an fx-51 in most benchmarks anyway, single controller or not. Fx-53 will be harder work to beat, but the same formula applies. Anyone know why this is so? Is there a bottleneck for the fx series somewhere? They are better, but not as muc...

Curious then that Intel said the P4EE was aimed at the gaming market? A Northwood, with double the L2 of a prescott, is a better gaming chip, turning out better benched results, after all. Good point MrBean, an fx should beat Intels best. 8) The fx-53 costs considerably less than the 3.4EE though, w...

The best value 64 bit chip is the 3000+, it's 512 cache less of a realistic disadvantage than most think. Nevertheless, I went for the next best valued version, the 3200+ which easily sits at the 2.2ghz of a 3400+ on the standard boxed heatsink I'm using for now, after fsb tweaking. And that at 37-4...

I agree with that, though if you're really flush(I aint), a new card is great to have. I generally keep a card for 1 year before an upgrade, depending on technological progress. The next-gen cards from both Nvidea and Ati, likely costing little more than current top cards soon enough, will represent...

I have a blue version, V1000D, and it's really heavy, far more so than my previous case, an aluminium xaser 2. Point is, aluminium( silver ver only) is a good idea. Great cases though, many cool touches. And it looks sliiick. That price isn't bad, probably not the very best though. eg > take2.co.za ...
