Re: StarPhoenix's Histrionics/Hissy Fit Thread

How were they interfering with your treatment? They were badgering me about my mental health, and taking it upon themselves to "counsel" me in such a way that it made me feel worse. They were prying into my personal life, which is not there area of concern. The people who take care of me ...

Re: StarPhoenix's Histrionics/Hissy Fit Thread

What do they say when you leave the room? Awfully brave of you. Nothing. They have their eyes closed, and are too busy communing with their deity of choice to notice. I also try to do so discretely, that is to say, I don't have a Sam Harris lecture playing at full volume on my cellphone while I am ...

Re: StarPhoenix's Histrionics/Hissy Fit Thread

Yay! The company financial year year-end backslapping is done and dusted! Am I grateful for these two days away from work! Fish, fruit salad, and nuts were on offer at our Financial Year End Function, but there were two aspects of the CEO's speech that troubled me. He stated that those who only work...

Re: Want to replace wireless adsl modem-thingy

Update: it turns out that it was the power supply that was faulty. I bought one of them universal adapter thingies from a nearby electronics store, and verified that the router did then turn on. As luck would have it, when i was walking back to work, i tripped, fell, and my router absorbed some of t...

Will visit my local Telkom Direct store, and ask whether they sell them.

I can get a TP-Link TD-W8951ND locally for R405. Have any of you heard of this brand?

Want to replace wireless adsl modem-thingy

G'day. My long-serving DLink 2640U kicked the bucket last Monday. [Doesn't power up] Naturally, I would rather not be paying for an ADSL service I cannot use, so I would like to purchase a replacement at some stage. I can probably stretch to R300-R400 this month, and around R600 next month. I realis...
