Re: Coffee Machine Question: For Rusty or anyone else

Hey urban, Its' the pods I'm referring to , but I guess they probably just changed the names at some stage. The pods are expensive, but damn, the coffee is soooooo good. The key is guess is to limit intake of 'premium nespresso' coffee to esnure you don't spend R500/month on the pods ... You can ord...

Coffee Machine Question: For Rusty or anyone else

I've recently looked at the Nespresso coffee/espresso/cuppacino machines and while I will concede that at R5,75 a cup of espresso or cuppacino it is rather expensive, I made an amazingly good cup of 'home made cuppacino' on one of these machines (which means I have top spend R16 less frequently at W...

Hi, I need some input here ... I dropped my MacBook Pro (yes, butterfingers, I know!) and the hard drive crashed (click click) ... The notebook is shot and insurance will pay for replacement. It cannot boot into an operating system, however there are bits and pieces of data that I would like to extr...

G-Connect ...

Hi all,

I heard of these guys on the radio this morning (www.gconnect.co.za) and had a look. It seems they offer a now contract prepaid monthly voucher where R200 gives you 9GB on ADSL. Any views on this company and this offering?

It seems to be a very good 'no strings' deal ...

The Best FIREWALL

I thought this was classic and had to post ... Apologies if it's been posted before and also note, I guess it has a 2-16 rating (although these days it should probably be a 2-8 rating ... ) 1. One human cell contains 75MB genetic information. 2. One sperm contains a half of that; that is 37.5MB. 3. ...

Re: Uncapped ADSL for R 399 per month; capped at R 23

As a matter of interest ... mailed Cybersmart and apparently they stopped the trial of the uncapped ADSL ...

Anyone know who the suppliers of uncapped ADSL are in SA at present? I only know of Screamer and saw some bad things on here about them? Can anyone recommend one?

Buying Advice: Cordless Phones @ Home

Hi all, I'm pretty much g@tvol of the 2 cheap cordless phones I purchased 2 years ago for home use and want to replace them with a single cordless unit that has the look and feel (and intelligence) of a modern cellphone. I'm not a wizz on IT anymore so any help would be appreciated. Can anyone recom...

Re: Finding the RIGHT memory chips - HELP!

I think to agree, but I'm no exports on memory so don't have an idea on whether you get non-parity vs parity chips and/or 200 or 300-pin ... so I'm tying to be as exact as I can be in finding it ...

Finding the RIGHT memory chips - HELP!

Hi all, I'm wanting to upgrade my iMac form 1GB to 4GB of memory. Going through the official channel is extremely expensive (hardware and labour), however it's actually a simplistic operation and one that Apple even supports you doing it yourself. I need to find memory chips matching these exact cri...

Thanks for some of the ideas so far. I already have an iPhone 3g so the iPod Touch is not on the list and also have a nice camcorder.

Buy please keep the ideas flowing ... I'm sure I'll pick up a good idea soon.

Hi all, I've tried troubleshooting nearly everything I could think of and was hoping someone might have some more insight into what I can troubleshoot. Basically overnight, our DSTV (HD PVR) is giving sound problems on every channel. The best way in which to describe it is that the audio is very sof...

Saving FLASHPAPER documents for offline reading

Hi, I've been asked to help proofread and contribute to a book and it has been placed on the web in Flashpaper format. While easy enough to open each time, I'd prefer to read it offline as it's about 2-3 MB to load each time and I read about 3-4 pages max at a time of the 200+ pages book. The file c...

Re: The long awaited Iphone software 3.0 is out

RyanRich,

Have you managed to send MMS's and use the tethering that the 3.0 software is supposed to bring to the iPhone 3G? I've upgraded but still can't send MMS's or tether the phone to my notebook.
