Re: ultimate motorbikes

W1K - that's awesome :) You are clearly a rider of style and taste ;) Vale Dreamtime! It is slightly different to my dreamtime replica though... Will be interesting to see if you get any colour fade on yours. My lumo orange colours have faded badly :( but the rest of the colours have remained solid ...

Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!

Benchies show a really big difference in fps. I think your rig is very futureproof now :) I've bitten the bullet. I just can't handle putting my 5870 in my current weakling of a pc so I've just ordered: Intel lga1156 i5-760 Asus P7P55D-E LX Corsair HX-750W Mushkin 1333MHz DDR3 4GB Silverline Low-Vol...

Hope the bottom PCI slot is not faulty, otherwise that could be a bit of a nusance.
Let us know how it goes SB - I am expecting good things from your new Crossfire setup :)

Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!

Guys a quick question.. I've got a 500w Antec power supply - which is AMD/ATI's lowest recommended spec for the 5870. Am I taking any risks running it that close to the minimum? My pc is not filled with anything too power hungry - Core2Duo, 2x 1GB DDR2, 2x 160gig drives, 2x DVD writers and a Creativ...

Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!

I'm not a heavy gamer anymore because Wow eats my whole life when I'm not at work ; ) Wow is not especially heavy on the the pc. But when I edit RAW files from my camera then the pain begins - 2GB RAM and an elderly Core2Duo is not a good combo when Photoshop is processing files.. :( Yup, i need to ...

Core2Duo E6600 2GB DDR2 2x 160 gig Seagate Windows 7 64bit and 1x dying Radeon 4770 The whole thing is crying out to be binned, but it is at the point where I can't upgrade components indivdually - board/RAM/CPU all need to be bought together. Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!

Thanks for info guys. Smilodon111 - I can't wait for Dec as my 4770 is coughing and spluttering and does not have much longer to live on this planet. Getting artefacts all over the place in Wow, to the point where it is getting annoying... I have a feeling the 6970 will be upwards of R3k and my budg...

Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!

I'm still trying to decide between the 5870 and the newer 6870. All the benches show the 5870 winning slightly in everything.
Seems the the 6870 is the replacement for the 5850..
I'm so confused now. How much more futureproof is the 6870 over it's older (but more powerful) sibling?

Green Webcam - something not right

Hi everyone, Some advice is needed please. Installed a new webcam on my ma's pc on Wednesday. Everything installed well with no issues. Skype picked up the cam and it worked fine. Then this morning my ma started up Skype and the image from the webcam was inverted and green. I cannot work out why thi...

Re: ultimate motorbikes

Hmm I'm not sure if I am happy with the looks of the ZX10. Although I haven't been at ease with Kawa's designs for the last few versions of the ZX10 (and ZX6 to be honest). What mainly irks me is the exhaust design. I'm sure they're excellent for lowering the centre of gravity etc. but the look of t...

Re: Photography - (max 640px X 480px allowed!)

Yes, I tend to agree with you on the D90 vs. D5000. I think the D90 feels better in the hand. The D5000 is way quieter though, which is very nice to have when at wildlife parks etc. when you're sitting in a hide taking photos. Nothing more embarrassing than taking a pic and the shutter noise startle...

Agreed!
It has become a piece of art but not very functional any more.
That rear wheel must make the handling very sluggish indeed.
