I managed to change my work monitor to a 19" LCD - very big difference - much easier on the eyes. One downside (apparrently) to an LCD is (according to some photographer people that I've spoken to) is that the colour generation is not as accurate as a CRT. When they do editing of photos in Phot...

Thanks for the invite! I have a legal copy of the game :D

Only thing is I have had very little time to play it since buying it at the end of last year - but I'll be online tonight at 8? See you there?

Ya that would be awesome even if one of those accidents happen to involve one of your family members or a child or an entire family, it would still be awesome wouldn't it. You need help buddy.

It's never going to change! I thought that a full upgrade once every 2 years was sufficient, but with the speed that technology is moving now-a-days, i think that interval is going to shorten. Mind you, my PC is almost 2 years old, and I can play all of the latest games (not on max detail setting th...

You won't be using 128gb of ram any time soon, but it's nice to know that the os is future proof. 15 years ago I could swear that a 1gig HDD was rediculously too big!

I'd guess that MS is trying to phase out 32bit computing? You reckon that future service packs will allow more ram with the 32bit version?

Syndicate - Does Vista only support 4gb of RAM ATM? Suppose in future service packs that'll increase? I still remember when XP didn't support USB2 - we had to wait for SP1! The business version of vista doesn't come with any games (not even solitaire!) - sux for all of us who enjoy a game of solitai...

Porsche Unleashed was the best one IMHO. The old porsches were difficult to drive, but as you moved up they had more modern driving aids and such. The 1979 911 RS was the best - raw power, no driving aids, and really fast! I played that game for hours - and it was like history lesson too!

After having SP2 I havn't encountered any BSODs due to the OS - had only 2 so far, but they were both caused by incompatible software with my TV card.

I'm very happy with XP - does what I need it to do. Why fix something that isn't broken? :?

Lol - I never even used one of those really old floppies - held about 700kb if I remember correctly. I have a 1.44mb floppy drive in my machine - as Ron2K mentioned - only for XP to load drivers for my SATA drive. I'd guess that vista has built in SATA drivers? I've slipstreamed SP2 onto an XP copy ...

POTS = Plain Old Telephone Service

One thing I just found out is that, the filter also helps prevent background noise on the analogue telephone line - so cleaner voice over the line as well as isolating the digital part of the bandwidth from the analogue part (as Abs said).

Couldn't find what the P, O, T and S stand for, but basically it's a filter that you put between a phone and the phone line that you're using for ADSL. The filter basically keeps the ADSL part of the bandwidth clean from interference from the telephone. You have to have a POTS filter between every p...
