Re: 3D hurts your eyes!

Well no, 3D is sort of just starting out (I'm not counting the Blue and Red 3D of the 80s because it's not the same tech) and it needs to be improved a lot.

It's not bad but it's not 100% fine.

Re: 3D hurts your eyes!

3D mostly annoys me. I can't focus properly and it's slightly unbalanced. I noticed during the latest Happy Potter movie that 3D can't cope with bright flashes that well. The single best thing to happen to TVs lately is the 600hz refresh rate. Now that does make a huge difference and is worth the co...

Re: Why waste heat from servers?

It's a good idea and there heat exchangers that could do this. The only concern is overall cost really especially for South Africans.

Re: which is ahead sotfware or hardware?

I think there have been instances where software has been ahead of hardware.

Flight sim X ran at 10fps with the best rig at the time. There is no way there's a 6-7 year difference though.

Re: nno longer buying the mag

You know what's awesome? Looing back at an old issue of PCformat or NAG and seeing what the graphics was like from days of yore. It's amazing how far and fast tech is evolving and there are a lot of people out there still trying to sell their 6600GT for R1600 that they paid for it.

Re: nno longer buying the mag

Oh my word there is one section I always skip and that's printer reviews. Snore. I don't blame the move and it makes sense from an economical point of view, more readers=more money. Why not try not judging a book by a cover and looking at the contents list online? I haven't bought a mag in a while th...

Re: Server hacked, phishing and other horrible issues ensue

Everyone seems to be getting hacked now. Word of advice. Implement strict and complicated security measures and document it all. Passwords should be 50 characters long, encryption of the hard drive, SSL, certificates, etc. It's a biatch but it's not hard or expensive to implement and can save you a ...
