Hardware required for ADSL, other than for Iburst connection

Hi guys Our family's had Iburst as our ISP for the last few years, which is obviously now becoming poor value for money so I am investigating the possibility of getting an ADSL connection. My question is: Do I need an ADSL specific modem/router or can I use the wireless Linksys router that I current...

Re: CD/DVD Rom Problems.

I prefer Sony drives, but LG are also pretty good. If it matters, my Creative Infra 3600 optical drive (and remote!!!) that's 15 (fifteen!) years old is still working 100%, so I'd recommend Creative over everything else if one could get them in South Africa. Although I'm not sure if they're still m...

Re: CD/DVD Rom Problems.

I had the same problem with a Samsung CD-RW/DVD IDE combo drive a while back. After using the drive for 4 years it decided that it would only open sometimes(say for every 5 times I push the button it would open on the first push 4 times), but the biggest problem was getting it to close... Occasional...

They are really attempting suicide if they plan to release a PC game with such restrictive DRM. :? how would you come to this conclusion? it's their product and they can do whatever they wish with it - that's their prerogative... similarly, we can choose not to waste money on their latest abominati...

Cycling, was preparing for my 3rd Cape Argus Cycle Tour, but I've got measles atm so I won't be allowed to train any more before the 14th of March. Will be interesting to see how I get on on the 14th, hopefully my youth counts for something.

Honestly, what are Ubisoft thinking?? Have they not seen how enraged gamers were with Mass Effect's DRM which had to be 'activated' weekly? They are really attempting suicide if they plan to release a PC game with such restrictive DRM.

I've used Norton(which I believe is horrible), AVG(which gives a rather big amount of false positives), Avast!(does what it is supposed to do, I only don't like the fact that a system scan stops when it finds an infection instead of finishing the scan and then dealing with it) and Microsoft Security...
