Windows 8 and sound speaker property settings
Hi there, not sure if someone can help me or advise me on the following: Running Windows 8 Pro, not a problem. Have a good system and all going very well. Sound card is a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (also still works very well). Now, the issue I have is that I set my sound setting...

Re: Is it worth the upgrade?
Thanks guys, appreciate the response.
I think I'll give that CPU a miss, maybe I'll look at the AMD Phenom II x6 1100T a little later and new graphic cards (either a dual GPU ATI card or a decent Nvidia GTX in SLi) - something that will outperform my current set-up, if possible

Is it worth the upgrade?
Just a quick one. Currently running the Asus Crosshair II Formula motherboard with the AMD Phenom II 940 BE CPU (running at 3.4) and the Radeon HD 5970 GPU and generally all running pretty well. The Phenom II x4 cpu's have been discontinues but I have a chance to get the 965 still which is stock 3.4...

Re: The official cat thread.....56k warning Fat format
That scruffyness is a Main Coon thing and usually all kittens are like that. They grow out of it. You guys remember Storm, one of my cats here in SA? When she was a kitten she was outright ugly http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff357/GuntherHanne/DSC00330.jpg and if it wasn't for the fact that I kn...

Re: The official cat thread.....56k warning Fat format
I have now got my two new babies, Honey, a 3,5 month old kitten and her mother, 15,5 month old Bomber, and they are gorgeous. Lovable and playful and comfortable to be with and them being around me. Velveteen, the previous cat I got, never felt at home with me and she was constantly hiding and runni...

Re: Question regarding which PCI slot to use
Hi Koko_Lion Thanks for the response and yes, settling in wonderfully and all is absolutely wonderful here. Most of the responses I got so far is that PCI adaptors are better as USB adaptors through the USB port are quite slow. It might be different with USB 2 or 3 but with my current board it's too...

Well not sure when I will be able to take them home, but yeah, will be great fun having them round as I try and unpack - can just see that - and quite honestly, havent even thought of that. I'm just keen on adpoting them as soon as I can - the rest will fall into place somehow

This is not a problem really and I am about to get myself a nice wireless router and PCI adaptor for the PC. I ahve a choice of a PCI or a PCI-E ada...

Re: 3DMark Vantage
I don't think I can overclock my CPU any further than where I'm at, but maybe the GPU can go a bit further - what do you think, Jelly
Currently at 800/1150 and stock voltage
And will any further overclocking really actually make a big difference? (especially in gaming)

Re: 3DMark 11
Hm, thanks, and having looked a bit through the previous posts, it seems to me that CPU is not really all that relevant for this benchmark, I mean they are all just under 5000, yet these systems have far faster CPU's clocked over 4MHz

Re: The official cat thread.....56k warning Fat format
A few updates on my cats Storm, our youngest cat, wasn't really the prettiest when we got her as a kitten, but now at 16 months she turned out to be quite different (main coons are only fully grown after about 4 years) - she's now about 5kg http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff357/GuntherHanne/DSC00...

Re: 3D Mark 2006
As with Vantange, after my reformat and a slight tweaking in the bios, I now have finally breached 20K in my score: http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff357/GuntherHanne/3DMark0630-12-2010graphics800-1200.jpg but here too, I guess it's a reasonable score considering an ageing motherboard and processor

Re: 3DMark Vantage
Did a reformat in December and slightly changed my settings in the bios, and now I get the following score: http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff357/GuntherHanne/3DMarkVantage30-12-2010graphics800-1200-1.jpg Possibly not the best score round, but then I guess with an ageing motherboard and processor...

Re: 3DMark 11 conflict
Great, there is a fix for this problem now:
downloaded and installed the latest versionb from Futuremark, ran the aplication - it then asked for the download of an upgrade to the Systeminfo - downloaded and installed that and now it's working 100%
Even 06 and Vantage is now working again

3DMark 11 conflict
Hi Maybe there is someone who has the same problem as I have or hopefully even an answer to it The problem that I am experiencing is that for some reason or other (I don't know why) I cannot run 3DMark 11 - it stops running after the 4th graphic test and at the start of the physixs tests. It just cr...
