Re: The official cat thread.....56k warning Fat format
It's actually not the cats' hair that people are allergic to, it's their saliva that causes the allergies (and seeing that cats - most at least - constantly lick and clean themselves all day long, most people think that it's the cats' hair that they are allergic to)

Re: 3D Mark 2006
@ GuntherHanne - Is that score with your CPU @3.5Ghz and a pair of 280.s SLI'd? Also saw that - if it is, methinks your SLI is disabled or drivers are crippled. That's right, CPU at 3.5 and GPU's in SLi - so 17600 a bit low? Thanks for that, Molean & UrBaN, but to be honest, I did expect the sc...

Here some pictures of our new addition, Penny, the maincoon at about 4 months old. She has such a wonderful and gentle personality and at this stage is off course extremely playful as well http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff357/GuntherHanne/DSC00354.jpg http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff357/Gun...

Re: Finally, my new upgrade
Although I ony did my major upgrade less than 2 moths ago (mid November), I decided that it is a good idea to get the new AMD Phenom II 940 BE and replace the 9950 BE. I must say, it was certainly a good idea. The 940 is a lovely CPU and my 3DMark 06 score improved from 14800 something to nearly 176...

Re: 3DMark Vantage
After the release of the new AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE, I decided that maybe it was not a bad idea to upgrade to that one from my AMD Phenom 9950 BE, so i did (after only having had the 9950 since mid November). The 940 gave me a nice improvement on my Vantage score from about 19500/19600 to a nice 21...

Re: 3D Mark 2006
Well, upgraded to the new AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE (from Phenom 9950 BE), and must say that I'm very pleased with it. Somehow however cannot get it to run at more that 3.5 GHz, but I gues that's sufficient There was a nice improvement to the 3DMark 06 score (from 14800 something to nearly 17600) http...

Re: GTA IV problems with launching the game
First of all you have a Nvidia card.Nvidia doesnt support dx 10.1.Only if you have an ATI card with sp1 installed.Dont know how to solve your crash though.Sorry. Thanks Justinufo, that explains the DX 10.1 situation, but that then shouldn't cause the problem becasue I'm not the only one running Nvi...

GTA IV problems with launching the game
Well, I know that there is already an official GTA IV thread, but I couldn't really find a solution to my problem. The problem I have is that this game doesn't want to launch. RGSC keeps crashing before it even gets started and that results in me not even be ably to launch the game. I have searched ...

Re: MS Flight Simulator X keeps crashing
Latest update: Well, FSX now plays fine without crashing when I set my GPU card fans to 100% with my overclock settings in place. Seems thus after all that somehow this game doesn't like warm temperatures at all and the automatic fan control (and that is working fine) just doesn't seem enough. Oh we...

Re: MS Flight Simulator X keeps crashing
Thanks, again, bosaap, switching off bloom certainly did the trick regarding the flickering of the road markings, etc. Unfortunately it just BSOD crashed again just now. Maybe just a little glitch somewhere. Will try again later

Re: MS Flight Simulator X keeps crashing
Quick update It seems that by bringing back my graphics cards to stock settings, this game now seems to play fine without these dreaded BSOD crashes. Yipee :) Been monitoring the GPU and CPU tems and they're all quite fine as well. GPUs at between 68 and 77/78 degrees and the CPU at between 47 and 4...

Re: MS Flight Simulator X keeps crashing
Thanks bosaap, will ceratinly give that a try before I start downclocking my components. Maybe there is a problem with the Acceleration package (somehow I doubt it though) (it would suite me more to hopefully find that the problem lies with the game instead of any overclocking of my PC). So guess wh...

Re: MS Flight Simulator X keeps crashing
Too many jokes... must restrain self... Anyhoo. Clock back to your stock settings or do some loops of 3DMark Vantage or 3D06 to test for stability. The BSOD is caused by excessive overclocking if you ask me. Most likely something is overheating. I would image that to be GFX cards. With SLI your top...

Yes, Vista SP1 as well, but the 32-bit versionTheModDoctor wrote:Try setting your PC back to normal clocks or setting graphics lower and see if that helps? Did your older system also use Vista SP1?
Will try and reset my clocks to normal and see how it goes, thanks

MS Flight Simulator X keeps crashing

Re: 3DMark Vantage
. Not really-3Dmark offers no real world guide on how good your PC is. It's really just an epenis enlarger. Often certain makes of card-such as ATi-obtain results better then Nvidia but when it comes down to actually playing games, it falls behind. I think I tend to agree with that. 3DMark scores to...
