hmmm to my knowledge you should have the big 120 mm fan on the psu facing down (theres enough space to draw air through the bottom. im just trying to think where your cpu is getting air from. maybe reverse the fan at the top and see what happens?

the access times on the 74gb version is faster that the 150 gb one. maybe two of them in raid 0? toms hardware had a good hard drive shootout a while back.check the chart things out otherwise

im running 2x3850's on a 500 watt power supply so i rate its not that. has it ever been working? did he do something to make it start freezing? try changing memory, g card and if you can processor.

yeah the ati cards run that hdmi thing that adds an extra audio device. otherwise just get a second card. youre saying you dont want to spend money on something you dont need (sound) but this thread exists purely because you dont have sound. i say you need it. 200 bucks for an audigy value. come on,...

Stick with AMD!

i know your mom says dont listen to me but save 1000 bucks and get an MSI k9a2 platinum board. its great! 790 fx chipset. 4 pci express ports (thats quad crossfire) and its much cheaper than the closest competition for no reason.

ive got as Antec 500 watt and its pretty sweet. you'd probably want to go for something bigger but the modular thing is definately something to go for! it'll cost extra but its rad. not more cluttered crows nest to work with!

250 MB/s vs 500MB/s (theoretical data speeds of course)

they are backwards compatible but you'll probably find itll bottleneck your system
