After messing around with the settings and selecting the default "landscapes" pictures, for the first time the picture had changed when I woke up the monitor this morning. Also, the monitor is now switching off, although not at the selected time intervals.

Monitor is Samsung SyncMaster 740n.

LCD Monitor is 7 years old. Graphic card included in the new PC.

I've tried with a larger power supply.
Output set at 12V
1A - 12 VA
Unfortunately there seems to be a bad connection at the scanner input socket
so,unless I can sort this out will have to buy a new scanner.

OK. The original power supply as follows:
Input - 240V AC 0.4A Output 12V DC 1.25A

My AC adapter : Input - 240V AC Output set to 12V DC - current 0.5A (not stated whether input or output) 9w

Reading up on this card - two negatives I picked up-
It runs at a pretty high temp.
It's a bit power hungry.
