What about Microsft Virtual PC 2007? I really enjoy the features of that product and from my little experience it crashes less than VirtualBox and less resource incentive than VMWare server edition

Well, I don't think Windows 7 has anything to do with it. The modem in the living room must be configured to be an access point or something like that, and the modem in the other room must be configured to connect to that access point. Where are the wireless experts when you need them?
