Re: Linux Distro Discussion

Just tried using Sabayon, been using it all day and I must say that I'm pretty happy. It's based off Gentoo, so it seems to be a bit quicker, except on package installation due to having to compile everything

Re: Linux Distro Discussion

I'm not very tempted by openSUSE... not sure what it is.

I'm currently back using ubuntu while I wait for gentoo to finish downloading. Main reason I like ubuntu, tons of support.

Linux Distro Discussion

Hey all it's been a while since I've been on the forums. Anyway, what I wanted to do was start a topic for the discussion of the different distros and for people to discuss which they feel is the best and why. I'm currently in the act of choosing a distro. In the past week I've tried Ubunut, Xubuntu...

Re: Folding - Team PCFormat ZA #128409 - RANK 1187

Hey all so it would seem that I have let the team down :( I'm gonna be getting uncapped ADSL soon in which case I can then start folding again, but in the mean time I have registered a work pc with the Rosetta @ home project -- I couldn't get F@H working at work, so I settled for the same idea but d...

Re: Nissan GT-R in SA - and here's what it'll cost

True, the R33 and R34 were better lookers, but hey, they can't use the same design again. I must say that I prefer this car to a Zonda, a maserrati and most other cars in its class (class is defined as too much for me to afford)

I have a 8800GT (G92) 512MB and I use it with my 2494HS @ 1920x1080.

NFS Undercover - runs perfectly
Crysis - Not sure, haven't tried, don't want to try, not interested
HL2, CSS, Left 4 Dead - all run perfectly @ 1920x1080
Movies - Pure win

Re: which car should I get?

I'd go for the Polo, after driving both the 1.4 polo and the 1.4 runx as hire cars, I can say the runx is very heavy. It's the same shell they use for the 1.6 and I think it may have been designed with the 1.6 engine in mind thus being so heavy for a 1.4 engine. The polo is lighter, quicker and safe...

It's also worth noting that I prefer Winamp when running Windows. XMMS is very similar to Winamp and can even utilize winamp skins. I personally use Rhythmbox as I need something to play my music, that is all. Tribs, the latest version of Ubuntu are there for the latest updates to programs, securit...

Thats what I'd do, although without the dishwashing liquid.

Otherwise try a chemist, garage or hardware store
