The controller for the PC is an awesome option bud. Even in driving games it will be better than a keyboard and mouse. However for FPS, Keyboard + Mouse = Unbeatable..

I have tried this before - works very well. However installation time isn't that much quicker compared to installing it via the DVD.

However, it's very handing if you're like me and have one of the new Dell net books without a DVD drive!
