I was like that score in Vista!! Then I noticed it's XP with a transformation pack.

Nice score though.

Just uninstall all mobo drivers, maybe even gfx drivers, before you shutdown to take the old board out. Then fit the new board, check all cables are correctly fitted and start up. Windows should want the drivers for the new board. Install. Easy!

I too suffered from the 7900GT artifacting problem. I took it back to the shop I got it from and they kept saying it's fine even though I told them to test in F.E.A.R. And 3dMark06. Well a huge fight later i ended up with a 7950GT as an RMA.

I have quite a few podcasts from Derek 'The Bandit'. If it's really caught on I can't tell you but most good podcasts are from across the pond. Also Derek mentioned that his inspiration for putting it together was from a guy in the UK if I remember correctly. Video podcasts do exist but seeing as I ...

Why not?

I have a Vantec 120mm running off a mobo fan header, spinning at its full 2500rpm, yeah it's noisy. Strangely, changing the target temp in the BIOS has no effect. On my AMD mobo it made a difference.

Are the newer DFI's good at oc'ing though?

I've read that the P5K plain battles with oc'ing a quad.

Frozen, is that because you have a standard alloy cooler?

I understand it also permanently bonds to the cooler.

Run CPUID's Hardware monitor in the background so it'll show the max the temp went to.

I'm sure that liquid metal strip needs to be used on a copper base cooler. Not sure about alloy.

Damn, that is too high! My 6400+ X2 Black Ed I had never even saw 40. Are you running a standard cooler? What cpu grease?

Is cool n quiet disabled in the BIOS? Cause I would disable it to make sure the fan spins at 100%.

I've never had cool n quiet enabled or installed.

The Vanilla one I'm talking about is the plain one. The SE/EPU version has only one gfx slot and has some advanced power processing thing, which souds like BS.

P5K/GA-P35-DS3(L) or ??

Guys, I'm thinking of getting a P35 mobo, obviously for OC'ing. I'm obviously strapped for cash so it has to be affordable. Here's what I'm looking at. Asus P5K (vanilla) Asus P5K SE/EPU Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L I would like a DFI Blood Iron but can't find one. I know the P5K needs a...

He he he

Ok so to recap, running a pci-ex v1.0 card in a v2.0 slot will be bottlenecking slightly. If it will be very noticeable or not will largely depend on your chosen hardware.

Case closed.

P.S. That means I need a new mobo soon. What do you think of the P5K, Furion?

Damn, we've hi-jacked this thread terribly.

Under Prime95 small fft mine sees 61deg and idles between 21 and 28 deg, it's with an old Gigabyte 3D Rocket cooler and AS5.

I wanna get a Thermalright though. I already have the Fan I want to stick on it. Or maybe a Zalman.
